A time to remember, now that the power is back on! It is very pretty, all this ice.

Making due
With no power for over 24 hours now, we are trying to make due and even enjoy this, if that is possible! Candle light, a fire, and reading by a flashlight, my new book about setting gemstones. Hmmmm, not bad!

The weather outside is frightful!
What a storm! Fortunately we have power and the fallen trees didn't do any damage, other than to making me very tired after cleaning it up! Zoe managed to skate in the driveway....

Let it snow!
So pretty, all is calm ( well, not really, but I want to think so!) and all is white. It will be along time before we sit outside in the sun in those red chairs...... It appears so peaceful and the snow seems to absorb all the sounds. This is the good part about winter:)

Fun!
I am in Montreal for work and when I checked into my room, this was what I saw. Just like a wall..... Then I turned on the light and this is what I saw :). What fun!!!

Nelson Mandela
Nelson Mandela, dead at 95. It moved me to tears. If there were more like him, maybe some of the atrocities that still occur in this workd would not happen. The CBC has some never heard audio tapes with interviews. Download them as a podcast, they are worth it......

Traditions
I guess we all have our own family traditions. Well, Zoe and I love to set up and decorate the christmas tree. She came home today especially for that. What fun! Here is the result:)

The perfect tree
I love real Christmas trees and prefer them over fake ones, despite the mess when you have to clean them up..... They make the house smell so nice. Usually it takes time to search through all the options but today it took 2 minutes. It is outside waiting to be brought in tomorrow and be decorated. It is the kick off to the season! If I had a big house i would buy one as big as this one.
