Doe, a deer....

This afternoon we had 4 deer in the backyard. They come around everyday and often we don't even notice them. So neat!

 

 

 

 

 

Sharp knives.....

Are you like me? Accident prone? Well, with sharp knives I am an accident waiting to happen. It did today. At least an inch and it wouldn't stop bleeding! I hate sharp knives..... Give me blunt ones anytime!

 

Fall clean up

Today was such a beautiful day and one that lend itself to putting the garden to bed. Where did the summer go?

 

Thanksgiving dinner Hope Bay

We usually go to Hope Bay to celebrate Thanksgiving and so we did again this year. We have a lot of friends there. A beautiful sunrise started the day. We sat out in the sun and some even went skiing.......Then we get ready for dinner. The turkey is cooked in 90 minutes or so underneath a bucket and surrounded and covered by coals. Delicious!

A silver teardrop...

While at the cottage I decided to make another pendant. I drew a shape, and then handsawed it out. It is stirling silver in the background and etched brass in the front. Silver rivets did the trick for finishing it. Fun!

Malala Yusafai

This is an incredible story. Malala is the 16 year old girl that was shot in the head by the Taliban in Pakistan last year because she wanted an education and spoke up for young women in Pakistan. She recovered, wrote her memoir, and is now in Canada for an interview. She is the youngest nominee for the Nobel peace price, to be decided this Friday. Amazing, 16, and so directed to a cause with quite the voice and eloquence. She helped thousands of Malalas. One child changing the world.....

 

Fall

The weather is beautiful and it is definitely fall. I decided to bring Zoe some flowers and pumpkins when we went to visit her today! It is so great to see her.... :)

 

Heartfelt

I took a day off and this is how I spent my day..... Heartfelt passion led to this pendant. I used the precious metal clay necklace I made in Anne Mitchell's class. I love it!

 

Inspiration

I am in need of inspiration. With Zoe and Isabel moved away, I am struggling a bit and have empty nest syndrome :(

So I turned to my hobby and tried making some new jewelry. A broche or scarf pin and some earrings. I feel somewhat better.... I hope this feelings goes away. What do you think? Have you experienced this?
