Salvador Dali

One of the trips we made while in Barcelona was to Figueras, where Salvador Dali was born and where he established a museum of his works. It was fascinating. In addition to paintings and sculptures, he also produced some stunning jewelry. Each piece was made with gold, diamonds, rubies, emeralds and other incredible gems....
The love of his life, Gala, asked for a castle and so he bought her one. Medieval and stunning views!! True love...? I asked john for one too. We'll see ;)

Family reunion

Every 2 years we have a family weekend. Because we are so many, and there are 3 of us who live in Canada, we decided that we needed to make sure we stay connected. So, we rent group accomodation and spend a weekend together catching up and having fun! One of our activities included building a raft and then race against each other. So funny!

From Holland we travelled to Barcelona for a week. We saw so much. Our apartment was in the Barri Gothic, and there are such beautiful churches there. There are also great little old shops with the bestdisplays. i also love all the old street lights.

We went to la Sagrada Familia, which is just a master piece. The castle on Montjuic gives testimony to the history. The Olympic museum was very touching. I can go on and on but am just posting some pictures.

 

Xanten

 

 

 

 

On Thursday we went to a town in Germany called Xanten. There are remnants of a Roman village, and there also is a great cathedral. Take a look!

 

Belgium

We spent a few days in Brugge and Ghent. So pretty. Lot of walking, and a great boat tour.

Visit Holland

I am visiting my family in Holland and am having such a great time. I miss living here as it is such a great place. Yet, I also miss my friends and family in Canada. I am so fortunate to be able to travel and be part of both!

More Bead and Button

I finally had a chance to look at some of my Bead and Button pictures. There are such talented artists there. Here is some of their work. StephanyAnn, Thomas Mann, Kaska Fiore, to name but a few.

Of course we also toured around a bit and found this great yarn store. Check out the mannequin, and the hat..... It made me giggle! Carmi and Rebekah are my partners in experiencing the fun!!

Travels Western Canada

I am in Edmonton for work. It is almost 9 and it is as if it mid day. Who can sleep when it is day light!! I looked it up, almost 17 hours of daylight..... Amazing
